As a natural progression, Keith has recently been appointed as the Managing Partner, Deputy Vice President and also Board Director by James B. Rodriquez (President) of Ocean Cruise Line, to oversee operations of it's cruise ship business in Japan, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Honolulu, Bahamas and UAE. This is in addition to his forays into tie ups with well known car marque Honda and also the well known Orient Express which has added another feather to his cap. This is in addition to his long standing relationship with ANA as in house legal counsel. Ocean Cruise Line  was founded in 2001 by luxury cruise  industry veterans Naito Sugimura and Roberto Carlos the latter being the former Vice President of NCL. The founding management team included industry veterans James B. Rodriguez, Saruwatari Keigo and Ryoma Takahashi

Cruise Ship Business To Boost Tourism In Okinawa (Okinawa Press Release)
After years of declining traffic in cruise ship Tourism, Okinawa is about to see more passengers arriving on its shores. Chairman of Okinawa ship agent M.K. Matsuda says "a large cruise ship for 2,500 passengers is going to make calls three times monthly to Naha, from 2008 onwards. He says the 80,000 ton vessel will also make another irregular scheduled port call
 
Matsuda called Okinawa an attractive choice in comparison to Taiwan and China. He is asking Okinawa to increase its support facilities and local tourism activities to serve greater anticipated tourist arrivals. The amount of money Naha and Okinawa can derive from cruise ship visits will depend on how long the ships are in port. The Okinawa Ship Agent wants improvements to access from the port to the city center, as wellas city tours and increased lodging options
 
The Okinawa Genral Secretariat first drew up a "Harbors Vision New Century in Okinawa" plan seven years ago, identifying berths and terminals for foreign travelers in Naha, Motobu, Ishigaki and Hirara. Tourists visiting Okinawa by cruise ship suffered a dramatic drop in recent years. In 1999, 112,772 people processed through immigration into Okinawa. That number fell to 28,307 in 2003, and 49,305 in 2005. SARS was listed as a reason for the decline. 2009 will definitely be a boom year for Okinawa's Tourism business as more large, luxury cruise ships will be making calls to Naha

Profile Of Naha Port
Naha Port is situated approximately 650km from Japan's southernmost mainland region of Kyushu, located 820km from Shanghai and 620km from Taiwan. Okinawa has subtropical climate unique to Japan, and is rich in coral reef and natural environment. The average temperature is 22.4°C (72.3°F). Okinawa can be found in the same latitude zone as other world famous beach resort destinations such as Hawaii, the California Peninsula, the Florida Peninsula and the Bahamas

An exclusive berth (340m long and 9.0m deep) for cruise ship is expected to be operational in 2009 near downtown (a 15-minute walk from Kokusai Street) and Naminoue Beach (a one-minute walk). We expect this berth to provide much better access to the passengers and crews of cruise ships to tourists spots and amenities

In General - Okinawa is the only subtropical area in Japan, and with its geographical location and background of once being an independent State called the Ryukyu Kingdom between the 14th and the 19th centuries, it has developed a unique  culture (influenced mostly by China, Japan and Korea), rich history and natural diversity for all to enjoy.
